The document explains that the growing of papaya has not taken any significant place in the diversification effort of the Ministry of Agriculture, and it is not a component of any fruit development project, however, it has been grown and is still being produced throughout the island. Pineapple production has not got a high rating in the Agricultural Development Programme, however, it grown and produced by many farmers on a fairly smalle scale. Mango has been identified as one of the crops for expansion and increased exports to the regional and extra-regional markets, mainly the United Kingdom. The rest of the document refers to pre-production, production systems, harvesting, post-harvest handing, shipping and distribution and marketing of the three fruits. (MIBA)
