En este artículo se presentan, en primer lugar, las proyecciones a largo plazo de la FAO para la producción, el consumo y el comercio mundial de los cereales hacia el año 2010. Estudiamos tanto el contexto mundial como los resultados más detallados de los países de América Central y México. En segundo término, abordamos el tema de los futuros precios de los cereales, considerando tanto el nivel y la estabilidad de dichos precios This article first presents FAO's long-term projections for world cereal production, consumption and trade towards 2010. We study both the global context and the more detailed results of the countries of Central America and Mexico. Second, we address the issue of future cereal prices, considering both the level and stability of these prices.
