En el marco de la alianza existente entre el IICA y la OMC, se han llevado a cabo actividades conjuntas de cooperación técnica sobre temas de agricultura que son de gran interés para ambas instituciones y sus países miembros. En el 2017, se llevaron a cabo de manera conjunta dos foros técnicos: uno sobre las reglas de origen en el comercio de bienes agrícolas y otro sobre el sistema de solución de controversias de la OMC y su relación con el comercio de bienes agrícolas. A su vez,
se llevó a cabo un taller regional sobre medidas sanitarias y fitosanitarias para 19 países de América Latina. A number of joint technical cooperation activities have been conducted within the framework of the existing alliance between the IICA and the WTO on agricultural subjects of particular interest to the two institutions and their member countries, including, in 2017, two technical fora: one on rules of origin in trade in agricultural goods, and the other on the WTO dispute settlement system and its relationship with trade in agricultural goods. A regional workshop on sanitary and phytosanitary measures was subsequently held for 19 Latin American countries.
