Durante el año 2000, en Nicaragua se realizó una valoración del sistema de transferencia de tecnología del Instituto Nicaragüense de Tecnología Agropecuaria (INTA) en las agencias de Masaya y Rivas (INTA A-2). Esta valoración estuvo centrada en los Servicios de Asistencia Técnica Participativa Cofinanciada (ATP1), con el propósito de evaluar la efectividad de este servicio. Asimismo, se determinaron los alcances y limitaciones para desarrollar y fortalecer las capacidades gerenciales de los productores y productoras atendidas bajo esta modalidad. La investigación se desarrolló bajo la metodología de estudios de caso, mediante el cual se seleccionaron cuatro grupos (4) de productores. Este proceso implicó una selección previa de los grupos que tenían 4 años de atención seleccionando uno de ellos para el estudio, seguidamente los que tenían 3 años de ser atendidos, seleccionando uno de ellos y así sucesivamente. En este estudio el criterio "Tiempo" es considerado uno de los más importantes debido al interés en evaluar los resultados del trabajo de la modalidad ATP1. La Asistencia Técnica Participativa Cofinanciada (ATP1) es un medio que muestra efectos positivos en la satisfacción de la demanda tecnológica de los grupos. El estudio constató que un 89 por ciento de los integrantes de los grupos han aplicado por lo menos una práctica/tecnologías que se han transferido de las cuales manifiestan alguna satisfacción por las tecnologías nuevas que han aplicado. De igual manera, resalta la importancia en fomentar la diversificación de actividades productivas que a su vez pueden responder a necesidades básicas de las unidades familiares (generación de ingresos), como por ejemplo el mejoramiento genético de aves y cerdos de patio, variedades mejoradas de GB, hortalizas y frutales. |

During the year 2000, an appraisal of the technology transfer system of the Nicaraguan Institute of Farm Technology (INTA) was implemented in Masaya and Rivas in Nicaragua. This appraisal was centered in the Participatory Co financed Technical Services Assistance (ATP1), for the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of these services. Likewise, the extent and limitations of this system to develop and to fortify the managerial capacities of the producers and users of this service was evaluated. The investigation utilized case studies, by means of which four groups of participating producers were selected . This process implied a prior selection of the groups with four years of experience selecting one of them for the study, followed by groups with three years of participation, selecting one of them and so on. In this study the experience criteria be considered one of the most important due to the interest in evaluating the results of the job of the ATP1 system. The ATP1 is a system that shows positive effects in the satisfaction of the technological demand of the groups. The study demonstrates that 89percent of the groups' members have applied at least a practice or technology that have been transferred in this process,. Equally the study demonstrates the importance in promoting the diversification of production activities that at the same time can respond to basic needs of the households, such as generating income. For example the genetic improvement of fowls, hogs, fruits and vegetables. |
