Summary, etc	Se presenta un estudio que evalúa los efectos del aprovechamiento forestal de bajo impacto mediante el uso de motosierra con marco y tala dirigida, en la riqueza, diversidad y composición florística de un bosque latifoliado ubicado en la costa norte de Honduras. El trabajo se desarrolló en el bosque del grupo de aserrío Toncontín, parte alta de la cuenca del río Cangrejal. Se evaluó la población arbórea a partir de 2,5 cm de dap, se instalaron y midieron nueve parcelas permanentes de 0,5 ha cada una para la evaluación de la vegetación con dap mayor o igual 10 cm y subparcelas de 25 m{ostrok} para la evaluación de los latizales con dap entre 2,5 y 9,9 cm. Se midieron 3007 árboles con dap mayor o igual 10 cm distribuidos en cuatro parcelas instaladas en bosque aprovechado y cinco en bosque sin aprovechamiento. Se presenta una descripción de la vegetación encontrada en la parcelas, estimándose 668 ind/ha y un área basal de 33,09 m{ostrok}/ha para los individuos con dap mayor o igual a 10 cm. Se identificaron 136 especies, 52 familias y 99 géneros siendo las especies dominantes Euterpe precatoria y Vochysia sp.; el bosque puede describirse como una asociación Euterpe - Vochysia. En el sotobosque se determinó la presencia de 1931 latizales/ha con un área basal de 4,09 m{ostrok}/ha. Se realizó una comparación estadística mediante prueba t no encontrándose diferencias significativas (p < 0,05) entre el número de árboles y área basal por hectárea, número de especies, familias o géneros, ni entre los índices de diversidad de Simpson y Shannon. La distribución de las variables analizadas en este estudio fue normal. Se concluye que el aprovechamiento forestal practicado en Toncontín no produjo daños significativos en ninguna de las variables evaluadas.

Summary, etc	The study evaluates the effects of low impact forest harvesting, using chainsaw sawmill and guided felling on the richness, diversity and floristic composition of a broadleaved forest located in the north coast of Honduras. The study was carried out in the forest of the Toncontin logging group, in the upper Cangrejal watershed. Tree population ranging from 2,5 cm dbh was evaluated. Nine half ha permanent plots were installed, where an assessment of vegetation mayor o igual que 10 dbh was made, with subplots of 25 m{ostrok} for the evaluation of saplings. The assessments resulted in the measurement of 3007 trees with a dbh mayor o igual que 10 cm distributed in four plots located in harvested forest and five plots located in non-harvested forest were measured. The study describes the vegetation found in the nine permanent plots, estimating 668 stem/ha and a basal area of 33,09 m{ostrok}/ha for dbh mayor o igual que 10 cm Euterpe precatoria and Vochysia sp. were found to be the dominant species of the 136 species, 52 families and 99 genera identified. The forest can be described as Euterpe - Vochysia association. In the understory 1931 sampling/ha with 4,09 m{ostrok}/ha basal area were detected. Comparative statistical analysis using t-test was perfomed finding non-significant differences (p 0,05) between harvested and non-harvested forest in the number of trees and basal area per hectare, number of species, families or genera and between Simpson and Shannon diversity indexes. The variable distribution was normal acording to analysis in the study. It is concluded that the forest logging carried out in Toncontin did not lead to significant damage of the evaluated variables.
