El objetivo principal de la presente investigación fue la formulación de planes agroconservacionistas de fincas como contribución al manejo integrado de la microcuenca. Para ello se procedió a realizar todo el proceso de intervención a una cuenca, desde la caracterización y diagnóstico de la misma, la evaluación de las tierras para determinar y priorizar las áreas de intervención más vulnerables y luego con el propósito de evaluar el impacto de la intervención en las fincas, se procedió a definir algunos indicadores de sostenibilidad para su posterior monitoreo. Se definieron indicadores de sostenibilidad a nivel de la microcuenca en las tres dimensiones: ambiental, económica ysocial, para definir la línea base para una posterior evaluación y monitoreo de los impactos de intervención realizados. Destacan los indicadores de calidad de agua, los porcentajes de cobertura, los que miden la productividad y beneficios económicos, así como la participajción social de los agricultores. En la actualidad el manejo de cuencas trata del uso apropiado de los recursos naturales en función de la intervención humana y sus necesidades. En ese sentido el eje del manejo de una cuenca radica en comprender que la finca es una unidad productiva de intervención y manejo, y la cuenca es la unidad de análisis y planificación para ordenar, conocer las potencialidades y evaluar los impactos de intervención. |

The primary objective of this study was to formulate agro-conservation plans to contribute to the integrated management of the micro-watershed. To do so, the watershed was characterized and diagnosed, the land evaluated to determine and prioritize areas vulnerable to intervention. To determine and monitor the effects of interventions on farms, sustainability indicators were defined. Environmental, economic and social sustainability indicators were defined at the microwatershed level to identify the base line for later evaluation and monitoring of the impacts of the proposed intervention. Emphasis was put on indicators that describe water quality and percent groundcover, those that measure economic productivity and benefits, and the social participation of farmers. Presently, watershed management concentrates on the appropriate use of natural resources in function of human intervention and needs. Management of a watershed lies in understanding that a farm is a production unit responsible for intervention and management and that the watershed is the analysis and planning unit, looked at to organize and to understand the potential of intervention and evaluate its impacts. |
