Se realizaron dos estudios de caso con comunidades de la costa pacífica de Costa Rica y uno en la costa atlántica de Panamá, donde continúan implementándose Iniciativas de Conservación con tortugas marinas que promueven el desarrollo sostenible de estas comunidades. Para este fin, se utilizó el Marco de los Capitales de la Comunidad, como herramienta conceptual,metodológica en la identificación de vínculos entre intervenciones y bienestar,representados por los efectos de las iniciativas sobre los capitales comunitarios. Para los tres estudios de caso se realizaron entrevistas semi-estructuradas con jefes de hogar, encuestas con miembros de la comunidad mayores de 15 años y grupos focales con informantes clave. De acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos en las tres comunidades se encontró, que según la percepción de la gente, las tres Iniciativas de Conservación son consideradas exitosas. En general, la equidad en aspectos como participación y acceso a los recursos son imprescindibles para una sinergia entre capitales, por lo que hay que invertir en herramientas de compensación que tengan mayor efecto sobre el bienestar común. |

Two case studies were carried out with communities on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and one in the Atlantic coast of Panamá, where conservation initiatives with marine turtles continue to be implemented promoting the sustainable human development of these communities. For this purpose the Community Capitals Framework (MCC in Spanish) was used as a theoretical and methodological resource in the identification of links between interventions and well being, represented by the effects of the initiatives over the communities' capitals. For the three case studies semi-structured open ended interviews with the household head, structured close ended interviews with members of the community over 15 years of age and focal groups with key informants were carried out. In accordance with the results obtained in the three communities it was found that according to peoples' perceptions, the three conservation initiatives were considered successful. In general, the fairness in aspects such as participation and access to the resources were essential for a synergy between capitals, which is why there must be an investment in compensation tools (political capital) that have effect on the common well being and the distribution of the assets. |
