Summary, etc	El objetivo de la presente investigación fue evaluar los efectos de los sistemas agroforestales de café y del paisaje a diferentes estratos altitudinales y certificaciones sobre la roya (Hemileia vastatrix Berk. & Br.), broca (Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari) y nematodos (Meloidogyne spp.) en las localidades de Turrialba y Orosi, Cartago Costa Rica. Las relaciones de la intensidad de los ataques de broca, roya y nematodos con el paisaje sugieren efectos del paisaje sobre la dispersión de estos organismos. La broca es favorecida por la conectividad entre parcelas de café hasta 150 m posiblemente porque se trata de un organismo específico del café con capacidad de vuelo limitada. La relación entre la roya y el pasto puede explicarse por el hecho que H. vastatrix es un patógeno que se transporta a través del viento y que encuentra condiciones más favorables para su dispersión en espacios abiertos. Para los nematodos, el aislamiento de las parcelas de café posiblemente reduzca el intercambio de material infestado.

Summary, etc	The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of coffee agroforestry systems and landscape at different altitudinal strata and certifications on the rust (Hemileia vastatrix Berk. & Br), coffee berry borer (Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari) and nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) in the localities of Turrialba and Orosi, Cartago Costa Rica. The observed relationships between coffee berry borer, coffee rust, nematodes and landscape suggest landscape effects on the dispersal of these organisms. The connectivity among coffee plots favored the dispersion of coffee berry borer within 150 m. This is probably due to the limited dispersal capacity of this coffee specific insect. The relation between the incidence of coffee rust and pasture can probably be explained by the fact H. vastatrix is an airborne pathogen. In open spaces the spores probably disperse more effectively. For the nematodes, exchange of infested material is probably reduced in areas with sparse coffee plots.
