Se describe la experiencia de conservación del territorio en el Eje Cafetero Colombiano, donde las áreas naturales protegidas son el instrumento de planificación primordial. A través de ejercicios técnicos prospectivos que incorporan criterios políticos, socioeconómicos y biológicos, se definen prioridades de conservación y lineamientos regionales de acción y/o determinantes ambientales para la orientación de la gestión departamental y local. Se destaca la importancia del trabajo colectivo interinstitucional, la coordinación y articulación de procesos e iniciativas gubernamentales y no gubernamentales, así como la estructura,funciones y esquema de funcionamiento del sistema. Se hace un breve recuento de los logros alcanzados en los cuatro ejes temáticos: conservación y manejo sostenible, fortalecimiento de capacidades, participación-comunicación y relacionamiento-gestión. |

This study shows the experience in land conservation in the Colombian coffee belt, where protected areas are the main planning instrument. By means of prospective technical essays that have into account political, socioeconomic and biological criteria, the conservation priorities and regional action lines and/or environmental determinants were defined to focus management at local and departmental levels. The importance of inter-institutional collective efforts, coordination, articulation of governmental processes and initiatives is outstanding the same as the system’s structure, functions and operation. A brief account of goals achieved in all four thematic axis ‑ conservation and sustainable management,capacity reinforcement, participationcommunication, and connection-direction ‑ is also included. |
