En este estudio se investigó si la presencia de árboles en sistemas silvopastoriles afecta las características del suelo superficial comparado con la pastura abierta, en los municipios de Muy Muy y Matiguás en la zona central de Nicaragua. Las especies arbóreas estudiadas fueron dos leguminosas (Enterolobium cyclocarpum, Albizia saman) y dos no leguminosas (Guazuma ulmifolia, Tabebuia rosea). Se seleccionaron 12 ó 13 individuos de cada especie en potreros distintos que cumplieran criterios de aislamiento y una variabilidad mínima.Los resultados de geoestadística indican que los árboles estudiados parecen estar afectando la distribución espacial de determinadas características del suelo, como CO, K y Pi, confirmando parte de los resultados del estudio principal. Las demás características del suelo estudiadas presentaron un patrón espacial ligado a factores a escala mayor o menor a la de la presencia del árbol. |

This study investigated whether the presence of trees in silvopastoral systems affects superficial soil characteristics under the trees when compared with the open pasture, in the municipalities of Matiguás and Muy Muy in central Nicaragua, Central America. The tree species studied were two legumes (Enterolobium cyclocarpum, Albizia saman) and two non-legumes (Guazuma ulmifolia, Tabebuia rosea). Twelve or 13 individuals of each species that met criteria for isolation and minimal variability were selected in different paddocks.The results of the geostatistical study indicate that trees seem to affect the spatial distribution of certain soil characteristics such as CO, K and Pi, thus confirming part of the results of the main study. Other soil characteristics studied showed a spatial pattern linked to factors at higher or lower scale than that presence of the tree. |
