Los objetivos del estudio fueron: a) Caracterizar las fincas ganaderas de la cuenca media del río Jesús María y comparar las estrategias de adaptación a la variabilidad climática según tipología de fincas. b) Evaluar la condición de pasturas de Brachiaria Brizantha y su impacto económico en la producción ganadera en la cuenca media del río Jesús María, Costa Rica. Los análisis de las estrategias de adaptación a la variabilidad climática encontradas según la tipología de finca, donde los pequeños y medianos productores se caracterizan por suministrar alimentos provenientes de bancos forrajeros como pasto de corte y contar con árboles dispersos en potreros y los productores grandes complementan la alimentación con concentrados. |

The objectives of the study were: a) Characterize the watershed ranches of the middle basin of the river Jesus Maria and compare the adaptation strategies to climate variability. b) Assess the condition of Brachiaria brizantha pastures and their economic impact in the production cattle raiser in the middle basin of river Jesus Maria, Costa Rica. The analyses of the strategies of adaptation of climate variability found according to the typology of farm, where the fodder banks from cutting grass and scattered paddocks trees are provided from small and medium producers and large producers complement concentrate feeding. |
