La Empresa de Crédito Comunal (ECC) El Sauce es una de las 112 empresas de crédito autónomas en Costa Rica, creada a partir de la metodología de Fundación Integral Campesina (FINCA), su principal actividad es la intermediación de recursos financieros, siendo la Empresa para el Desarrollo (EDESA S.A.) su principal fuente de financiamiento, aunque también obtiene recursos de la Fundación para el Desarrollo de Base (FUNDEBASE) y de la venta de capital accionario. La trayectoria de la empresa se divide en tres etapas: constitución, desarrollo y consolidación, cada una con características particulares. Dentro de los factores de éxito que tiene esta empresa está la perseverancia que han tenido los fundadores y dirigentes frente a la serie de dificultades que tuvieron en sus primeros años de vida como organización, la cercanía de la ECC con la gente y las comunidades, el satisfacer una demanda de crédito, la flexibilidad en el otorgamiento de créditos, la responsabilidad social y la existencia de fuentes de financiamiento. |
