Los sistemas silvopastoriles (SSP) tiene potencial para mejorar el desempeño de los sistemas ganaderos y al mismo tiempo, generan potencialmente servicios ecosistemicos (SE). Este desempeño y generación de SE dependerá del diseño de estos SSP (composición, cobertura arbórea, densidad). El objetivo general del presente trabajo fue, evaluar SE en distintos arreglos de potreros, bajo el esquema de diversidad funcional arbórea en la zona de Belén, Rivas, Nicaragua. Con base en la base de datos de FUNCiTree y SILPAS de inventario de árboles en la región, se tomaron en cuenta la composición, riqueza, abundancia y las variables dasométricas de leñosas perennes para valorar cinco SE, en tres tipos de arreglos espaciales de árboles dispersos en potreros (agrupados, dispersos y cercas vivas). Los resultados reflejaron que los potreros con baja diversidad de especies y abundancia de individuos fueron las encontradas en los arreglos agrupados y dispersos, estos aprovisionaron menor cantidad de SE. Los potreros ubicados en las cercas vivas presentaron especies proveedoras de fruto, forraje y sombra para pasto lo cual mejoró la provisión de SE. Además, se evidenció que las especies arbóreas encontradas en cercas vivas, tienen potencial para complementar la alimentación del ganado durante la época seca, sin embargo estos recursos no son utilizados por los productores. De igual manera los índices globales de este trabajo indicaron que, la mayoría de los grupos de potreros y sus arreglos en los potreros presentaron más de dos SE, tanto en arboles dispersos como en cercas vivas. |

The silvopastoral systems (SPS) improve the performance of livestock systems and at the same time potentially generate ecosystem services (ES). This generation performance and SE depend upon the design of these SPS (composition, canopy cover, density).The overall objective of this study was to evaluate ES in different paddocks arrangements under the tree functional diversity scheme in the Bethlehem area, Rivas, Nicaragua. Based on FUNCiTree and SILPAS database inventory of trees in the region, we took into account the composition, richness, abundance and woody perennial dasométricas variables to assess five ES, in three types of spatial arrangements of dispersed trees in pastures (grouped, scattered and live fences). The results showed that pastures with low species diversity and abundance of individuals were found in clustered and dispersed arrangements, these provisioned lesser amount of ES. However, contributed to pasture productivity by having lightweight cups filtration favoring sunlight. The paddocks located in the live fences presented species providing fruit, fodder and shade for grazing, which improved the provision of ES. In addition, management and species selection are ideal for paddocks to maintain pasture productivity. On the other hand it was shown that tree species found in live fences, have the potential to supplement livestock feed during the dry season, however these resources are not used by growers. Similarly global indices of this study indicated that most of the groups and jiggers arrangements presented over two ES, both scattered trees as living fences. |
