Este trabalho teve como objectivo quantificar a biomassa no solo antes e após a colheita e o aproveitamento dos resíduos florestais de Pinus elliottii no estado de São Paulo, Brasil. Antes do corte raso das árvores colheu-se, aleatoriamente, 15 amostras de 1m2 da biomassa presente no solo e este material foi separado em três classes de diâmetros (£0,70; 0,71-2,50 e 2,51-7,60 cm). O material de cada classe foi pesado e seco a 75ºC, para a determinação dos pesos secos por hectare. Este procedimento foi repetido após a colheita das toras e galhadas. Os resultados mostraram que o sistema de colheita promoveu: (1) um aumento de 122,286 para 278,460kg/ha, da serapilheira sobre o solo; (2) nos materiais com diâmetros 0,70 cm um aumento de 70,38% para 79,63% na composição da serapilheira; (3) nos materiais pertencentes à classe 0,71-2,50 cm um aumento de 9,75% para 16,25%; e (4) nos materiais da classe 2,51-7,60 cm uma redução de 19,83% para 4,13% do total da biomassa. |

This research aimed to quantify the soil biomass before and after the harvest and the utilization of Pinus elliottii forest residues in São Paulo, Brazil. Before cutting down the trees 15 samples with 1m2 each of biomass above the soil were collected at random and this material was divided in three classes of diameter (£ 0.70; 0.71-2.50 and 2.51-7.60 cm). The material of each class was weighted and dried at 75ºC for the determination of dry weight by hectare. This procedure was also executed after the logs and crowns harvest. The results showed that harvest system caused an: (1) increase from 122.286 kg/ha to 278.460 kg/ha of biomass over soil; (2) increase from 70.38% to 79.63% on the biomass total for class with diameter £0.70 cm; (3) increased from 9.79% to 16.25% on the biomass total for class with diameter of 0.71-2.50 cm; and (4) those found for the class 2.51-7.60 cm, decreased from 19.83% to 4.43% on total biomass. |

Ce travail a eu pour objectif de quantifier la biomasse présente sur le sol avant et après une cueillette ainsi que la mise en valeur des résidus forestiers de Pinus elliottii en São Paulo, Brésil. Avant la coupe rase des arbres, ont été collectés aléatoirement 15 échantillons de 1 m2 d'une biomasse présente sur le sol, et ce matériel fut séparé en trois classes de diamètres (£ 0.70; 0.71-2.50 e 2.51-7,60 cm). Le matériel de chaque classe fut pesé et séché à 75oC pour la détermination des poids secs par hectare. Cette procédure fut répétée après la cueillette des tores et des branchages. Les résultats montrèrent que le système de collecte a permis: (1) une augmentation de 122.286 à 278.460 kg/ha du couvert sur le sol, (2) sur les matériaux d'un diamètre de £ 0.70 cm, une augmentation de 70.38% à 79.63% dans la composition du couvert; (3) sur les matériaux appartenant à la classe 0.71-2.50 cm, une augmentation de 9.75% à 16.25%; et (4) sur les matériaux de classe 2.51-7.60 cm une réduction de 19.83% à 4.13% du total de la biomasse. |
