En este documento está plasmada la experiencia de COCAFELOL como parte de la cadena de valor del café en la región de La Labor, Ocotepeque Honduras en su esfuerzo por mejorar la calidad de vida de las familias productoras de café. Este documento pretende contribuir a la dinámica interna en la toma de decisiones a la gerencia de la cooperativa, organizaciones e instituciones involucradas en el proceso, a partir de una mejor comprensión que ellos mismos han tenido, aprender de ellas y propiciar la reflexión teórica y práctica para la generación de nuevo conocimiento. Adicionalmente se aspira que este documento pueda convertirse en un elemento importante para compartir las experiencias con otros actores interesados en conocer estos aprendizajes. Al presentar las debilidades de la COCAFELOL se espera que ello lleve al fortalecimiento de los dichos aspectos hasta que puedan convertirse en oportunidades para los caficultores de la zona. Durante la etapa de recopilación de información participaron representantes de la Junta directiva, socios, clientes, gerencia de COCAFELOL, La Fundación ETEA para el Desarrollo y la cooperación, oficina técnica de cooperación AECID, Municipalidad de La Labor Ocotepeque, Mancomunidad Guisayote, así como los beneficios compradores de café que se encuentran en la región. |
