La presente guía, es una respuesta a esta demanda de los países de la región por fortalecer los procesos de forestería comunitaria (FC); en particular, el desarrollo de capacidades para la gestión y administración empresarial a partir de actividades de manejo forestal financieramente viables. Ha sido concebida no solo para las comunidades que ya participan del negocio forestal sino también como ayuda a quienes tengan interés en desarrollar actividades en este campo. La obra está dirigida a profesionales y técnicos de entidades del Estado, ONG, organizaciones y promotores o extensionistas forestales que brindan asistencia técnica y facilitan el desarrollo de actividades y prácticas de FC en los bosques de pueblos indígenas o de comunidades locales, cuyo bienestar y medios de vida dependen de esos bosques. Otro posible usuario de esta guía podría ser el empresario interesado en trabajar con comunidades forestales. La guía puede servir a diversos propósitos, además del acompañamiento de procesos de FC. Entre ellos, la implementación de proyectos, el apoyo a actividades de capacitación para diversas audiencias (promotores, funcionarios públicos, profesores de universidades y escuelas técnicas), el diseño de mecanismos financieros, los procesos de (re)formulación de políticas públicas e institucionalización de la FC. Se trata de una guía práctica que recoge las experiencias y lecciones del acompañamiento a procesos de FC en varios países latinoamericanos, a fin de servir como un marco referencial efectivo para generar un mayor intercambio de experiencias, compartir conocimiento y promover capacitación, acompañamiento y comunicación, tomando en cuenta las diferencias y desafíos de los modos de producción. |
