En este documento se explora con detalle la relación entre apertura comercial y distribución del ingreso. Gran parte del interés en este tema se ha dado porque, se ha visto en América Latina, un aumento en la desigualdad muy marcado en los 80, que coincidió con el proceso de apertura comercial. Siguiendo el argumento tradicional de libro de texto lo que se esperaría es que si América Latina es una región intensiva en mano de obra no calificada, con una apertura comercial debería mejorar la distribución, por mano de obra no calificada generalmente están en la parte baja de la distributiva. Sin embargo, eso en América Latina no se vió. No se ve que simultáneamente con la apertura haya habido un mejoramiento distributivo. (MV) |
