El IICA y la CODEVASF, a través de un convenio financiado por el Fondo Simón Bolívar (FSB), han desarrollado actividades en las áreas de administración, organización y operación del Perímetro Irrigado de São Desidério, en Barreiras, Estado de Bahía, Brasil. Uno de los principales objetivos del Proyecto São Desiderio ha sido la promoción de la organización de los pequeños productores establecidos en la región del Perímetro, llevándoles a desarrollar el trabajo asociativo con miras al aprovechamiento de tecnologías más adaptadas a las características locales, a igual que al interés por la agricultura bajo riego. Este boletín describe los esfuerzos realizados por el IICA y la CODEVASF en el sentido de dotar el Perímetro Irrigado y sus beneficiarios -los pequeños agricultores- de medios de cooperación promotores de un real desarrollo. |
