Busca conocer el grado de conocimiento y apropiación de la población urbana del Distrito Nacional, República Dominicana, sobre los beneficios del arbolado urbano y zonas verdes, para efectivizar la aplicación de políticas públicas ambientales en incidencia ciudadana relacionadas al logro de una ciudad sostenible. Se utilizaron métodos de recolección de información; encuestas, entrevistas, cuestionarios, análisis de textos, sitematización de las experiencias y la metodología Q. Se plantea que el beneficio ambiental que ofrece el arboleado urbano y las zonas verdes, más identificado y apreciado por la población urbana, es la regulación de la calidad del aire. En lo concerniente a la percepción ciudadana, no se han realizado levantamientos oficiales para conocerla, acerca del arboleado y zonas verdes de la ciudad. Por su parte sí hay involucramiento ciudadano en las iniciativas de arborización. Hasta cierto punto se ha mejorado la gestión ambiental municipal, tratando de involucrar diversos sectores de la sociedad en las políticas públicas. |
