El cultivo de cítricos en los países del Caribe está muy generalizado. Los métodos de propagación son básicamente los mismos, con pequeñas modificaciones en cada país en particular. Esas adaptaciones algunas veces ayudan a mejorar la eficiencia en el vivero pero a la hora de implementarlas se tropieza con dificultades técnicas. Se presenta una serie de ideas y recomendaciones sobre la propagación manual de cítricos, con el propósito de orientar, tanto al fruticultor como al técnico de estos países, en mejorar la eficiencia en el manejo de viveros de cítricos, así como ayudarle a evitar las dificultades, que por desconocimiento, vayan a tener en la plantación. Citrus cultivation in the Caribbean countries is very widespread. The propagation methods are basically the same, with minor modifications in each individual country. These adaptations sometimes help to improve efficiency in the nursery, but when it comes to implementing them, technical difficulties are encountered. A series of ideas and recommendations on manual citrus propagation are presented, with the purpose of guiding both the fruit grower and the technician in these countries in improving the efficiency in the management of citrus nurseries, as well as helping to avoid difficulties , that due to ignorance, they are going to have in the plantation.
