Describe especialmente el programa desarrollado por EMBRAPA referido al fomento e implementación de microdestilerías en las zonas rurales para la producción de alcohol carburante, principalmente de caña de azúcar y sorgo azucarero (en el marco del Programa Nacional de Alcohol PROALCOOL). El objetivo era tornar autosuficientes ciertas regiones, en lo que respecta a combustible para tractores, camiones o maquinaria agrícola o equipo movido a alcohol, donde el transporte de combustible derivado del petróleo se constituía muy oneroso. Explica las ventajas de este programa, tanto en el uso de caña de azúcar como de sorgo azucarero. Señala posteriormente que, a raíz del programa de microdestilerías, nació la necesidad de establecer un sistema integrado de producción de energía-alimentos con los subproductos generados por las microdestilerías. Explica la forma en que integran estos subproductos y su uso dentro del sistema. (ACH) |
