Summary, etc	La producción de chile en Trinidad y Tobago ha estado confinada por largo tiempo al cultivo de dos de las más conocidas especies Capsicum annuum (chile dulce) y Capsicum frutescens (chile picante), ambos de la familia de la solanáceas. Este trabajo presenta un análisis de la situación del chile picante en Trinidad y Tobago, en aspectos que comprenden: mercadeo interno e internacional; así como el grado de procesamiento a nivel nacional, productos derivados de su procesamiento, compañías procesadoras locales y usos principales. A manera de conclusión señala las perspectivas que tiene el chile picante para el país. (ACH)
