Summary, etc Plantea el asunto de las organizaciones de investigación agropecuaria, visualizándolas como subsistemas sociales que actúan dentro de un medio ambiente más amplio que incide sobre éstos, lo cual se traduce en influencias mutuas a través de procesos, que para la organización de investigación, configuran una ruta evolucionaria peculiar en el tiempo. Este planeamiento de las organizaciones y sistemas de investigación como entes naturales de carácter social en recorridos temporales, ofrece una perspectiva diferente desde la cual se pueden apreciar una serie de problemas y oportunidades. Intenta mostrar que este enfoque de análisis organizacional, puede ser de interés para diferentes aspectos de la política de investigación agropecuaria y, entre ellos, la de capacitación. El trabajo tiene como objetivo fundamental esbozar el concepto de capacidad adaptiva y algunas de sus implicaciones para las organizaciones oficiales de investigación agropecuaria. El contenido analítico e informativo del documento es desarrollado bajo los siguientes encabezamientos principales (sin incluir la parte introductoria): 1) Misión y capacidad adaptativa; 2) fundamentos de la capacidad adaptativa; 3) límites y problemas en la capacidad adaptativa; 4) niveles de capacidad adaptativa en organizaciones de investigación agropecuaria y sus consecuencias para la capacitación; y 5) especulaciones sobre cambios futuros en ambientes de investigación.
