El principal mercado en los años 93, 94, y 95 ha sido EE.UU, sobre todo en el caso de la uña de gato, donde dicho país se abasteció de gran cantidad de materia prima a bajo costo que luego pasó a ser procesada a nivel industrial por sus laboratorios, cubriendo la demanda de productos a base de dicha planta a nivel mundial hasta la fecha, la cual bien podría ser atendida por productos elaborados industrialmente en Perú. Por el momento solo se dispone de registros en Aduanas de los años antes citados, a partir de lo cual podría tenerse una idea del comportamiento del mercado mundial respecto a las plantas con principios activos de la amazonía peruana. Se aprecia que el interes por productos naturales a nivel mundial, va en aumento debido a la tendencia de su mayor uso en el cuidado de la salud. Al final del artículo, como anexos, se presentan cuadros de información base (1993-1995) por país de destino tomada de la Superintendencia Nacional de Aduanas (SUNAD), y resultados de entrevistas sobre la materia realizadas a cuatro laboratorios.
