Summary, etc Por mensura forestal se conoce aquella ciencia que se ocupa de la medición del bosque y sus productos. Representa en último término la aplicación de los principios básicos de matemáticas, geometría y física a la solución de los problemas planteados en la medición y estimación tanto de la madera en pie como tumbada, sustentada especialmente en la metodología estadística. Se puede afirmar que hoy por hoy los métodos estadístico-matemáticos son el elemento más importante de la mensura forestal junto a los espectaculares avances de la informática
