Summary, etc Presenta un resumen general de las diversas ponencias, discusiones y recomendaciones establecidas en la Reunión Internacional para el Fortalecimiento de las Organizaciones Regionales de Sanidad Vegetal con especial énfasis en la región de América Latina y el Caribe. Dicha reunión fue patrocinada por el IICA, FAO, Organización Metereológica Mundial (WMO) y la European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO). La temática desarrollada en dicha reunión se centró básicamente en el análisis de: (1) La sanidad vegetal en el contexto internacional, destacando especialmente las organizaciones importantes en el mundo a nivel regional (Norteamérica, América Latina y el Caribe, Africa, Europa, Asia y el Pacífico); (2) La cooperación internacional en aspectos de cuarentena, certificación, fumigación e inspección para la sanidad vegetal; (3) Proyectos de investigación y desarrollo en sanidad vegetal patrocinadas por agencias internacionales (CIMMYT, USDA/APHIS/PPQ, GTZ, CICP, USAID/ROCAP, CIAT); (4) Agrometeorología y la sanidad vegetal. Destaca también algunos estudios adicionales, a nivel internacional, de interés a los programas de sanidad vegetal (FAO, USA, INRA/France). (ACH)
