La Conferencia de Nairobi, celebrada en Nairobi, Kenia, entre el 15 y el 19 de diciembre de 2015 estuvo presidida por la Ministra de Relaciones Exteriores y Comercio Internacional de Kenia, Amina Mohamed, donde se obtuvieron importantes resultados en una serie de áreas significativas para el comercio mundial, sobre todo en el ámbito de la agricultura.<br/>El IICA le otorga especial importancia a la Conferencia de Nairobi, debido a la alianza existente entre la OMC y el IICA, y la vinculación con el Proyecto de Competitividad y Sustentabilidad de las Cadenas Agrícolas para la Seguridad Alimentaria y el Desarrollo Económico, por parte del Instituto. De la Conferencia de Nairobi se espera que los resultados relativos a la agricultura reformen el comercio agrícola global. The conference held in Nairobi, Kenya from 15-19 December<br/>2015 was chaired by Amina Mohamed, Kenya’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. It produced significant results in a number of areas of importance for world trade, especially in the field of agriculture.<br/>IICA attaches special importance to the Nairobi Conference because of the partnership that exists between the WTO and IICA, and the meeting’s bearing on the Institute’s project Competitiveness and Sustainability of Agricultural Chains for Food Security and Economic Development.<br/>The agricultural outcomes of the Nairobi Conference are expected to lead to an overhaul of global agricultural trade. |
