Dada la riqueza de las experiencias expuestas por las personas que participaron en el taller regional Género, agricultura y cambio climático: ¿dónde estamos en Latinoamérica?, y la necesidad de documentarlas y compartirlas, se decidió publicar un compendio que las recogiera y mostrara las distintas las realidades que viven las mujeres en relación con la agricultura y el cambio climático. La variedad de recorridos es evidente. En algunos casos, se empezó promoviendo la equidad de género en las prácticas agrícolas y se terminó poniendo la atención en la adaptación al cambio climático. En otros, se buscó integrar los enfoques de cambio climático y género en las políticas vigentes. En unos procesos primó la investigación, en otros procesos, se privilegiaron las iniciativas de desarrollo agropecuario y rural. Se espera que este documento sirva para informar, pero también para inspirar a examinar con ojo crítico el trabajo político y técnico, y para motivar a buscar la manera de integrar mejor los enfoques de género, cambio climático y agricultura. Desde la perspectiva del IICA, esta es la única manera de poder lograr de manera efectiva la seguridad alimentaria, el bienestar rural y el desarrollo sostenible al que aspira Latinoamérica. |
