Summary, etc	Se realizó un estudio sobre la riqueza de especies y abundancia de escarabajos estiercoleros (Scarabaeidae) en bosques primarios de baja alteración y cuatro tipologías de cacaotales (cacao multi-estratificado, cacao con especies arbóreas y frutales, cacao especies arbóreas y musaceaes y cacao con estrato simple), en la reserva indígena de Talamanca, en la zona atlántica de Costa Rica. El muestreo de la vegetación fue realizado utilizando siete parcelas temporales (20 x 50 m) en cada uno de los cinco hábitats, con la finalidad de evaluar la estructura y composición florística, y determinar la influencia sobre la diversidad de escarabajos del estiércol. En cada parcela se midió e identificó todos los individuos con diámetro a la altura de pecho (DAP) igual o mayor a 10 cm. Además se registró la regeneración natural en cada parcela.

Summary, etc	A study on dung beetles (Scarabaeidae) species richness and abundance in low disturbed forests and four different types of cocoa agroforestry systems (multi-strata cocoa plantation, cocoa plantation with wood and fruit trees, cocoa plantation with wood trees and musaceaes and simple strata cocoa plantation) was done in the Talamanca indigenous reserve, atlantic zone, Costa Rica. Vegetation sampling was carried out using seven temporary plots (20 x 50 m), in each habitat, in order to evaluate the forest structure and floristic composition and determine its influence on dung beetles diversity. In each vegetation plots, all individuals with a diameter at breast height (dbh) of 10 cm or greater were measured and identified, and the natural regeneration was recorded. Dung beetles were sampled using 25 pig dungbaited pitfall traps (five transect with five traps), in each vegetation plots.
