The purpose of this document is to provide workshop participants with a brief outline of experiences with planning, monitoring and evaluating agricultural research at UWI in recent years. It presents some background information on the Faculty of Agriculture in terms of its and research capacity. It describes the present situation, including planning and programming, implementation and review procedures. At the end, it provides a general assessment of these initiatives as well as training priorities for improving the institutional capacity to plan, monitor and evaluate investmet in agricultural research.
