In the second section, the main actores in the financial system and in agriculture as a productive sector are identified, with special attention to public and private entities. If agricultural enterprises that are more competitive and sustainable are to be achieved, it will require certain investment and financing conditions, discussed in the third section. At the same time, these needs pose a challenge for the financial system in providing the resources and services needed by users, while satisfying standard financial institution performance requirements. These aspects are presented in the fourth section. The fifth section offers suggestions for public policy. (MIBA)
