Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Chile durante el 2019, con respecto a las necesidades e interés del país, fortaleciendo el desarrollo nacional de extensión rural y los sistemas de inocuidad de los alimentos. Asimismo, entregando servicios de extensión en temas de sistemas de riego tecnificado, agricultura familiar y la comercialización de sus productos; fortaleciendo las capacidades de los agricultores familiares y sus competencias. Se impulsó la asociatividad y la competitividad de los pequeños productores en la Región de la Araucanía, así como el apoyo a los procesos de adaptación de la metodología System of Rice Intensification (SRI), evaluando el uso del recurso hídrico. Finalmente se capacitó a jóvenes rurales en temas de emprendimiento.

The main activities carried out by the Institute in Chile during 2019 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening the national development of rural extension and food safety systems. Also, providing extension services on issues of technified irrigation systems, family farming and the marketing of their products; strengthening the capacities of family farmers and their skills. The associativity and competitiveness of small producers in the Araucanía Region were promoted, as well as support for the adaptation processes of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) methodology, evaluating the use of water resources. Finally, rural youth were trained in entrepreneurship issues.
