Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Republica Dominicana durante el 2019, con respecto a las necesidades e interés del país, fortaleciendo las capacidades nacionales en temas de sanidad agropecuaria, calidad e inocuidad de los alimentos, gestión de riesgos, innovación tecnológica y desarrollo de la agricultura rural. Asimismo, se impulso la sostenibilidad de la caficultura, por medio de la transferencia de tecnología para el manejo agroforestal de los cafetales, el manejo de plagas y el reforzamiento del Sistema de Alerta Temprana para el café. Finalmente, se establecieron alianzas entre el sector público y privado, para con fin de impulsar la generación de ingresos, así mismo se dieron cooperaciones con países miembros del IICA, para impulsar el sector agropecuario.

The main activities carried out by the Institute in the Dominican Republic during 2019 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening national capacities in matters of agricultural health, food quality and safety, risk management, technological innovation and development of rural agriculture. Likewise, the sustainability of coffee farming was promoted through the transfer of technology for the agroforestry management of coffee plantations, pest management and the reinforcement of the Early Warning System for coffee. Finally, alliances were established between the public and private sectors, in order to promote income generation, as well as cooperation with IICA member countries, to promote the agricultural sector.
