The results presented here show that resistance mechanism. The extent to which such ticks persists in the field in the absence of ongoing amitraz usage is an important question to which we currently have no answer. It is further shown that joint usage of tick vaccine and some macrocyclic lactone acaricides has the potential to lead to greatly enhanced efficacy and hence, pershaps, greater cost effectiveness
