The document explains that IICA is presently involved in a project which principal objective is to provide technical advice and management training to persons who are desirous of pursuing business opportunities in the agricultural sector. The emphasis here is on self-employment in small scale enterprises. The Association for Caribbean Transformation (ACT) has initiated its own credit programme with the use of founds of (IDB). ACT provides credit, market information, production and marketing support to small producers in the agricultural sector. It is hoped that this list of agri-business opportunities would broaden the range of options available to individuals and groups. The information provided here in are preliminary estimates only and subject to change over time. A more detailed study would be neccesary to determine markets, financing and choice the technology before any final decision can be taken to invest in any one of these options. The document is in a format that makes it subject to updating periodically from the experiences of others, as well as, from the developments that are occurring in the wider economy. (MIBA)
