The article notes there is disruption on the equilibrium between the above ground parts and roots once the flowers are harvested. Water in the primary consideration for cut flowe survival. Also explains that the treatment of the flowers and foliage is not only aimed at making them more attractive at the florist's window but must be capable of prolonging life after consumer purchase. Packaging and transport are subject tried in this document. (MIBA)
