The paper refers primarily to the population, agricultural and tourist economy of Barbados, and the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries trying to encourage apiculture. It adds that Barbados still has a long way to go in the development of its bee industry. At present financial support is limited to those actions that are absolutely necesssary to assist in the development of the country and it is time to give to beekeeping a chance. (MIBA)
