A presentation is made by Leslie and Cynthia Williams members of the Montserrat Beekeeping Association which jointly manages some 32 hives. The paper presents beekeeping as it was before and after Hurricane Hugo. Then, the current situation of beekeeping with honey, by-products such as beeswax and pollen. Finally, it emphasizes that the beekeepers in Montserrat can handle their hives reasonably well, but attention should be given to more serious potential problems such as American and European foulbrood and the Varroa and Acarine mite.
