Spraying began on November 4 wherever locusts were found, using U.L.V., malathion and Decis insecticides. Flocks of egret and black birds have been observed hunting and eating the locusts, and specimens are being observed daily to determine what hours of the day they feed, in order to carry out more effective spraying.
