The document reports on two locuts invasions in Suriname. In the first, no damage ocurred, and only slight damage to agricultural crops was reported as a result of the second invasion. The document emphasizes that unless there is reason to believe that Suriname, with its tropical rain forest climate, might be a breeding site for locusts, barrier spraying etc. will not be planned. The environmental effects should be then considered. (MIBA)
