The document is divided in two parts: the Mangifera indica L. varieties, quality requirements, harvest maturity, harvesting, post harvest treatments, packaging, storage, pest, diseases and phisiological disorders. Papaya (Carica papaya L.), as climateric fruit, and for long distance transport, mustbe harvested mature green. Care is necessary during harvesting, to minimize injury and to preventlatex (which oozes out of the cut stem-end) from disfiguring the fruit. (MIBA)
