This document explains the Jamaica network of rural women producers is to be part of a regional and hemispheric programme which came as a result of year of commitment on the part of the First Ladies of Latin American and the Caribbean and the IICA to address the conditions of rural women. The netwok seeks to create sustainable employment within the rural agricultural sector, promote self-reliance among rural women producers; promote products made by rural women, promote relevant training to upgrade and develop human resources and promote sustainability of individual groups and a network of rural women.
