A large number of fruit species are growing and bearing well in the Caribbean region. A few vertical integrated (production/marketing) fruit enterprises have been established, taking advantage of the incentives provided by programs such as CBI, Lome Convention and CARIBCAN. Most Caribbean countries are implementing agricultural diversification plans as the backbone of their agricultural development. In this paper a number of less traditional fruit crops which have the potential to be developed into crop enterprises are suggested. Selection has been made on the basis of their adaptability, present and potential markets and competitiveness. Possible areas for regional collaboration are also suggested
