The document refers to the economic and social context of Costa Rica, the agricultural sector, small farmers, services and institutional support for agricultural development, credit for the small producer, rural poverty, rural women, rural agroindustries, marketing system, programs and projects in the agricultural sector, and strategies guidelines for IFAD action in Costa Rica. The document includes four project ideas: 1) agricultural development in Valle General, Buenos Aires and Pérez Zeledón cantons; 2) support for sustain; 3) agricultural development project for the Southern area of Nicoya Peninsula; and 3) fostering of rural agroindustry managed small farmers.
