Chapter II refers to the Bahamian economy as a whole and to the agricultural sector in particular, describing the environment in which the project is goint to be implemented. Chapter III introduces the reader to the legal and administrative framework of the execution of the project, with an analysis of the institutions involved. Chapter IV describes the project areas (11 of the 14 main islands of the Bahamas archipelago). In chapter V the subprojects which make up the agricultural services development project are the following: crop and livestock development, research, extension and training services, agricultural marketing and feeder roads. Chapter VI deals with the institutional and administrative arrangements established for the execution of the project, which includes the follow-up and ex-post evaluation systems. Chapter VII presents the technical, institutional, financial and economic analysis of the project. Finally, chapter VIII, addresses the main issues still outstanding in relation to both short-term problems and longer-term development objectives of the agriculture of the Bahamas. (MIBA)
