The accomplishments during the last 3 years in the identification on several disease problems of apple and in initiating studies on their epidemiology and control were impressive considering the short time that a plant pathologist has been stationes at Vacaria. Although the industry apparently apprecaites this research effort, it has yet to support it with research grants. (MCV)
