This document explains on planning involves analysis of different production alternatives to select a corse of action with the objective of reaching the farmer's production and financial goals. Thus, planning is the function of deciding in advance what to produce, how much to produce, how it should be done, when to produce and sell, and who will be responsible for completing the tasks. Planning is a prerequisite to the satisfactory accomplishment of the implementation and control functions of management.
