El propósito de esta nota breve es ofrecer a los ministerios de agricultura del hemisferio occidental información actualizada sobre las recientes iniciativas que surgen a consecuencia de los esfuerzos internacionales por encarar el cambio climático, desde las perspectivas de adaptación, mitigación y productividad.
Todas las iniciativas aquí descritas son esfuerzos incipientes; todas comenzaron en los últimos cuatro años y cada una está tomando cada vez más impulso.

The purpose of this brief is to provide the Ministries of Agriculture in the Western Hemisphere with up-to-date information on the recent opportunities arising as a result of
international efforts to address climate change, from the perspectives of adaptation, mitigation, and productivity. The initiatives presented here are all nascent efforts; all of them began within the last four years and each is growing in momentum.
