Pedro Uribe Mejia) over 1938-1988 are reviewed. There are 32 papers dealing with coffee growing in all its aspects. Integrated weed control in coffee growing in all its aspects. Integrated weed control in coffee and soil erosion, research in crop diversification, coffee breeding, the occurrence of diseases in coffee, including coffee rust (Hemileia vastatrix), the economic aspects of coffee rust, the control of nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) and the coffee berry borer (Hypothenemus hampei), are discussed. In addition, the research in coffee processing methods, the position of soluble coffee in the world, coffee tissue culture and factors which govern the quality of green coffee are recorded
