| 520 | _aEl propósito del presente estudio fue la caracterización de las fincas lecheras en la cuenca alta del río Virilla. Tres estudios se llevaron a cabo en la cuenca alta del río Virilla, San José, Costa Rica. En el primer estudio se aplicó una entrevista a 35 ganaderos de la zona para obtener información relacionada a: usos de la tierra, manejo de las pasturas, manejo del hato bovino, productividad de leche, manejo de los desechos orgánicos y el uso, manejo, limitantes y bondades de los árboles dentro de las pasturas. En el segundo estudio fueron seleccionados los sistemas silvopastoriles (SSP) de A. acuminata con P. clandestinum con edades de la especie arbórea de dos (SSP2), tres (SSP3) y cuatro años (SSP4); como testigo se consideró a las pasturas en monocultivo (PM) degradadas. Fueron utilizadas tres repeticiones (fincas) para cada una de las condiciones. En el tercer estudio fueron seleccionadas dos fincas lecheras, una con enfoque ecológico y una finca tradicional. En conclusión las fincas lecheras de la cuenca alta del río Virilla, presentaron una escasa presencia del componente arbóreo dentro de las pasturas. | ||
| 520 | _aThe purpose of this study was to characterize cattle farms in the high Virilla river watershed, Costa Rica. Three studies were carried out in the high Virilla river, San José, Costa Rica. In the first study, interviews were carried out with 35 local cattle farmers. The purpose was to obtain information related to: land use, pasture management, cattle management, milk productivity, use and treatment of the organic waste, advantages and disadvantages of trees within pastures. In the second study, the silvopastoral systems (SPS) with A. acuminata with P. clandestinum species were selected. The trees were between the tree ages of two (SPS2), three (SPS3), and four years (SPS4); and the control was considered as a monocultural degraded pasture (PM). Three repetitions were used (farms) for each one of the conditions. In the third study two cattle farms were selected, one with an ecological focus and a traditional farm. In conclusion the cattle farms of the Virilla river high watershed presented a scarce presence of the tree component inside the pastures. | ||
